Ace Cruz was born and raised in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California, where his passion for the film industry began to unfold at the tender age of 13. This early fascination with the silver screen ultimately led him to pursue a career in acting, which he did after attending the prestigious University of Southern California, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theater.
Ace's early career was marked by numerous stage plays, during which he was discovered by Alfie Lorenzo, a renowned Philippine showbiz manager. This chance encounter led to a contract with Viva Films, which he fulfilled from 1992 to 1996. After a decade of acting, Ace decided to shift his focus to filmmaking, returning to U.S.C. Film School for three years to hone his craft.
In 2004, Ace founded his own production company, Spirit Films, with the mission of creating movies that are both commercially successful and convey positive messages that can inspire and uplift audiences. His debut film, "Last Chance aka Gangstaz," was a personal project that he directed and starred in alongside Todd Bridges and Judy Ann Santos.
The success of "Last Chance" caught the attention of an investor, who partnered with Ace to produce his next film, "Urban Task Force." This collaboration not only led to the creation of a new film but also introduced Ace to another investor, who helped him bring his third project, "Psychotic," to life. This film starred Sam Jones, Joe Estevez, Kathleen Kinmont, and Ace himself, and marked a significant milestone in his career.
Ace's subsequent films, including "Fate," "The Golem," and "Outrage," have further solidified his position as a talented and versatile filmmaker. His biggest film to date, "Fate," boasts an impressive cast featuring Lee Majors, Philip Michael Thomas, and Michael Pare. His other notable films include "The Golem," which stars Christopher Atkins's daughter Britney Bowman, and "Outrage," which co-stars Michael Madsen, Natasha Lyonne, and Michael Berryman.
