Biography

Here is the biography of Adam Faith:

Adam Faith was born Terry Nelhams on June 23, 1940, in Acton, London. He was the third of five children. Faith attended John Perryn secondary modern school in Acton and began working at a young age, taking on paper rounds and selling papers from a pitch to finance his own clothes budget.

After leaving school, Faith worked as an odd job boy for a silk screen printer, but soon moved on to become a messenger boy at Rank Screen Services. He then joined TV Advertising Ltd, where he was bitten by the skiffle bug and formed his first group, "The Worried Men", with colleagues from work.

Faith's big break came when he was discovered by Jack Good, who invited him to appear on his TV show "Six-Five Special". Faith's performances on the show led to him being signed by EMI, and he released his debut single, "(Got a) Heartsick Feeling" / "Brother Heartache & Sister Tears", in January 1958.

Despite initial commercial failure, Faith's fortunes changed with the release of "What Do You Want?" in October 1959, which reached #1 on the UK charts. He went on to release several more hits, including "Poor Me" and "Big Time", and became one of the most popular stars of stage and screen in Britain.

Faith's acting career took off in the 1960s, with roles in films such as "Beat Girl" and "What a Whopper". He also appeared on TV shows such as "Face to Face" and "Drumbeat", and began to concentrate more on acting than music.

In the 1970s, Faith continued to act in films and TV shows, including "Stardust" and "Budgie". He also became involved in the management side of the music industry, producing albums for artists such as Leo Sayer and Roger Daltrey.

In the 1980s, Faith reinvented himself as a financial guru, writing a column for "The Mail On Sunday" and releasing a self-help book. He also appeared on TV shows such as "The House That Jack Built" and "Love & Marriage".

In the 1990s, Faith continued to act in TV shows and stage productions, including a one-man show about his life and career. He also released a new album, "Midnight Postcards", in 1993.

Adam Faith died on March 8, 2003, at the age of 62, after finishing a performance of "Love & Marriage".
