Adam Schlachter, a renowned filmmaker, has earned a plethora of prestigious degrees, including an M.F.A. in Film Directing from the esteemed American Film Institute, a Professional Advanced Certificate in Screenwriting from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a B.F.A. in Film Production from Florida State University.
This talented director has had the privilege of helming two films that have qualified for the Academy Awards: "And The Brave Shall Rise", a documentary short, and "My Backyard Was A Mountain", a live-action short. His exceptional work has garnered recognition from the Berlinale Talent Campus and the Film Program Cannes, both sponsored by their legendary film festivals.
Adam's impressive resume also includes being selected for the CBS Directing Initiative, the NBC-Universal Showcase, the Writers Guild of America, the HSF McNamara Arts Grant, the Caucus Foundation Grant, and the MMPA Diversity Grant. He has received accolades from Kodak and Panavision, and has won over thirty film festival prizes.
His debut feature, "The 7", premiered on the NBC-Universal cable network, ChillerTV, and is available on Amazon Prime. His second feature, "Hollywood W", was shot in over fifty locations and events in Los Angeles with a multicultural cast of thirty. His third feature, "Hair In A Bag", a documentary, has just been completed for the film festival circuit.
Notably, every film Adam has directed has featured at least one Latinx actor in a lead or supporting role. He has a keen eye for emerging talent and has personally chosen several award-winning actors for roles in his films when they were just starting out, including Jesse Garcia, Emily Rios, Walter Perez, Sandra Echeverria, Kelly Blatz, Alison McInnis, and Adrienne Rose White.
Adam has also created "We Are All Latino" to spotlight Latinx directors. His other films include "The Perfect Shot", "a woman IN LOVE", "The Stain On The Sidewalk", and "Father Figure". His films have screened at over two hundred international film festivals, solidifying his reputation as a prominent figure in the film industry.
