Adam Townley is a renowned filmmaker and writer, celebrated for his distinctive visual style that masterfully intertwines innovative imagery with captivating narrative.
Born in Colchester, Essex, Adam's upbringing played a significant role in shaping his artistic vision. His father, a skilled carpet fitter, and his mother, a dedicated cleaner, carer, and shop assistant, instilled in him the value of hard work and perseverance, which he credits as a vital influence in his filmmaking journey.
After completing his state-funded education, Adam pursued a mathematics-based degree, which ultimately led him to Virgin Records, where he began as the "post boy" and gradually rose through the ranks to become the founding member of the company's newly formed internet department. During this time, he collaborated with Simon Atkinson, a like-minded creative thinker from a similar background, and their partnership would endure for years to come.
Under the moniker Si&Ad, a name bestowed upon them by the artists they worked with, including Massive Attack, The Chemical Brothers, Spice Girls, and others, the duo honed their skills directing award-winning music videos for a diverse range of acts, such as Blue, Groove Armada, Gomez, McFly, and Tinie Tempah. This period also marked the beginning of a long-standing relationship with Academy Films, where they embarked on a successful commercials career, working with clients like Honda, VW, Cadbury, Kohl's, JCPenny, Morrisons, Robinsons, and Vodafone to create award-winning work.
In addition to their music video and commercial endeavors, Si&Ad have also created several short-form narrative pieces, including "Street Dream," "Post-It Love," and "Indoor," which received significant attention on the international Film Festival Circuit. The duo continues to push the boundaries of creative thinking, striving to produce original and captivating work that leaves a lasting impression.
