Adrian Belew's professional journey began to unfold around 1977, when he gained widespread recognition for his guitar skills while collaborating with notable musicians such as Frank Zappa, David Bowie, and the Talking Heads.
As a multifaceted artist, Belew launched his solo career in 1981, assuming the roles of singer, guitarist, drummer, lyricist, composer, and producer for his own record label. Throughout his illustrious career, he has released an impressive 15 solo albums, in addition to lending his talents as a guest musician to numerous projects featuring prominent artists such as Tori Amos, David Byrne, Garland Jeffreys, Laurie Anderson, Joan Armatrading, Joe Cocker, Paul Simon, Jean-Michel Jarre, Robert Palmer, Cyndi Lauper, Mike Oldfield, Herbie Hancock, Peter Gabriel, the B52's, Nine Inch Nails, the Yellow Magic Orchestra, William Shatner, Porcupine Tree, and Ryuichi Sakamoto.
The year 1981 also marked the beginning of Belew's tenure as the lead vocalist and guitarist for the legendary rock band King Crimson. Over the course of six studio albums, he toured and recorded with the group, with their last release being issued in 2003.
In addition to his work with King Crimson, Belew has also performed and recorded with the Adrian Belew Trio, the ProjecKts, and the Bears, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and innovative musician.
