Afifi Alaouie's life story began in Costa Rica, where her journey in the entertainment industry would eventually take her. She started out by working in supporting roles in films, with early credits including the 1991 film "Justice Sauvage" and the 1995 straight-to-video release "Steel Frontier".
However, it was her role as a mercenary in the 1995 action film "Under Siege 2: Dark Territory" alongside Hollywood heavyweights Steven Seagal, Eric Bogosian, and Everett McGill, directed by Geoff Murphy, that would bring her to the attention of a wider audience. This was followed by a turn in the 1995 TV movie "Dead Weekend", where she showcased her versatility as a performer.
In the late 1990s, Alaouie continued to rack up credits, appearing in the 1997 episode "Been There, Done That" of the popular sitcom "Malcolm & Eddie", starring Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Eddie Griffin. She also made a guest appearance in the episode "Trading Places" of the beloved family sitcom "Family Matters", which aired around the same time.
