African-born Afrob was whisked away to Germany at just three months old, where he would go on to spend his formative years in Braunschweig, Karlsruhe, and Stuttgart. It was in this latter city that his musical journey as a rapper began, with his professional career kicking off in 1994 as a feature artist for friends' crews, such as the Massiven Töne, Freundeskreis (FK),and the Berlin-based Spezializtz.
Afrob's musical trajectory continued within the Stuttgart-based collective "Die Kolchose", "FK Allstars" (featuring the likes of Max Herre, Joy Denalane, Gentleman, and Sékou),and the "Brothers Keepers". A close friendship also binds him to fellow rapper Samy Deluxe, with whom he collaborated on solo albums and co-founded the project "ASD". In the spring of 2003, their joint album "Wer hätte das gedacht?!" made a splash, particularly in clubs.
