After completing his education, he began to make a name for himself in the Algerian film industry, quickly rising through the ranks to become one of the most respected and sought-after actors of his time.

His dedication and passion earned him numerous accolades and recognition, both domestically and internationally.

Ahmed's remarkable career was marked by a wide range of memorable performances, each one showcasing his incredible range and versatility as an actor. From his early days in Algerian cinema to his later work in French and international productions, Ahmed consistently demonstrated his ability to bring characters to life in a way that was both authentic and captivating.

Throughout his life, Ahmed was deeply committed to his Algerian heritage and culture, and he remained a proud ambassador for his homeland, always seeking to promote its rich history and traditions to a wider audience.

Tragically, Ahmed's life was cut short when he passed away on May 20th, 2022, at the age of 78, in the beautiful city of Cannes, France, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and entertain audiences for generations to come. Despite his untimely passing, Ahmed's memory will live on, and his contributions to the world of cinema will never be forgotten.

From a tender age, Ahmed's curiosity was piqued by the vibrant religious festivals of Nédroma, which had become a staple of his summer holidays. This exposure to the rich cultural heritage of Nédroma would ultimately shape his creative inclinations and lay the groundwork for his future endeavors.

As a precocious 9-year-old, Ahmed's fascination with the moving image began to take hold. He started experimenting with a 9.5mm camera, learning the intricacies of filmmaking and honing his skills. Undeterred by the limitations of his early equipment, Ahmed's imagination ran wild as he crafted his own cinematic masterpieces using cardboard as a makeshift prop.

Following his release from captivity after actively contributing to the independence movement in Algeria, he chose to relocate to Paris to reunite with his father. Shortly after, he secured a position as a designated projectionist at a prestigious college boarding school located in the picturesque region of Oise.

In the subsequent years, from 1960 to 1961, he found himself in the vibrant city of Lyon, where he immersed himself in the thriving artistic community that flourished at the renowned Théâtre de la Cité. It was during this period that he had the opportunity to witness and experience the captivating performance of the Al Capone show, skillfully directed by the esteemed Planchon.

Following Algeria's attainment of independence in 1962, Ahmed made the decision to return to his homeland and enroll at the conservatory municipal in the city of Sidi Bel Abbès, where he had the privilege of being mentored by the renowned Saïm El Hadj. It was during this period that Ahmed successfully persuaded his fellow artists, Bénaïssa Boudia and Mustapha Kateb, to join a training program specifically designed for conservatory graduates, which was initiated by the TNA, the Algerian National Theater.

Noted Lebanese thespian, having completed an intensive six-month training regimen, achieved unparalleled excellence in every aspect of his craft, ultimately ascending to the pinnacle of his profession, as he made his debut under the esteemed guidance of Alloula in the 1966-1967 production of Monnaies D'Or.

Subsequently, the TNA entrusted him with the rare opportunity to hone his skills further, sending him to an advanced training program in France, where he refined his artistry and broadened his theatrical scope.

Following this, he joined the prestigious Perennetti and Jean Marie Serreau troupe, embarking on a grand tour of Europe, showcasing his remarkable talents to diverse audiences across the continent in 1968.

In the year 1971, he made the decision to return to his native land of Algeria, only to be met with a dismal reality - the theater scene was in a state of disarray, stripped of its former vibrancy and reduced to mere propaganda. Disillusioned by this bleak landscape, he distanced himself from the stage after a three-year stint, and instead, redirected his focus towards the burgeoning film industry in Algeria. For the next decade, he captivated audiences on both the big and small screens, leaving an indelible mark on the cinematic landscape of his homeland.

In the pivotal year of 1985, a renowned individual made a triumphant return to the world of theater, amidst a backdrop of "text crisis" that mirrored the tumultuous state of the nation at that time. This remarkable figure, driven by an insatiable passion for the performing arts, embarked upon a new chapter in their illustrious career by taking on the role of a director.

Their first venture into the director's chair was with a children's theater, where they brought to life the timeless classic "Kalila or Dimna", a testament to their exceptional skill and artistic prowess. The success of this production served as a springboard for their next endeavor, which would have a profound impact on the cultural landscape of Sidi Bel Abbès.

In 1996, the individual took the helm of the Sidi Bel Abbès Theater, an institution that had been languishing in a state of creative stagnation since the departure of the illustrious Kateb Yacine. Recognizing the immense potential that lay dormant within the theater, the director set about injecting new life and energy into the organization.

To achieve this, they drew upon a talented pool of young local artists, including the gifted Abbar Azzedine, Yahia Benamar, Niddal el Mellouhi, and others. Through their guidance and mentorship, these emerging talents were able to flourish, and the Sidi Bel Abbès Theater was reborn as a vibrant hub of creative expression.

For over two decades, the renowned artist dedicated himself to honing the craft of his most prized creation, El Maghara El Mounfajira, which was meticulously adapted from the captivating work of Yamina Méchakra, "La Grotte Éclatée", and skillfully reimagined by the visionary Haïder Benhassine.

Throughout his illustrious career, he has had the privilege of mentoring and training a multitude of comedians in the art of acting, nurturing their talents and helping them to flourish.

In the realm of cinema, his exceptional skills as a "mouth", precision, and unparalleled talent have earned him a reputation that transcends borders, with a loyal following in France and Europe, consistently calling upon his expertise to bring their projects to life.
