Biography

Ahmed Hamidi, a Franco-Algerian screenwriter and director, is renowned for his contributions to the popular show Guignols de l'info from 2000 to December 2008. Born into a family of filmmakers, he is the brother of director Mohamed Hamidi.

Ahmed's journey in the entertainment industry began when he met Kader Aoun at the Parisian concept store Colette, where Aoun worked as a joker-waiter. Aoun, a prominent figure in the shadowy authors' community, took Hamidi under his wing and introduced him to Canal+, where he was tested on writing sketches for Omar and Fred's Visiophon and a sequence for Nulle Part Ailleurs. Impressed by Hamidi's talent, Canal+ validated his skills, and he joined the team of Les Guignols De L'Info for ten years, from 2000 to December 2008.

After leaving Guignols de l'info, Hamidi led the team of authors for the humorous show Canal Pratique, presented by Virginie Efira, from January to March 2009. He also directed Jules-Édouard Moustic's one-man show "Moustic En Gros" in 2008.

In 2011 and 2012, Hamidi co-authored "Marrakech Du Rire" with Jamel Debbouze, Fatsah Bouyahmed, and Habib Kadi. His career shifted towards cinema in 2013, and he worked as a dialogue writer and adapter on the script of the film "La Marche" by Nabil Ben Yadir.

Hamidi has since written and adapted scripts for numerous films, including "Why I Didn't Eat My Father" by Jamel Debbouze (2015),"Le Grand Bain" by Gilles Lellouche (2018),and many others. He has also directed two one-man shows for Redouanne Harjane, "Redouanne À La Cigale" and "Redouanne Est Harjane".

In 2022, Hamidi made his directorial debut with the feature film "Le Médecin Imaginaire", inspired by Laurel and Hardy, starring Alban Ivanov, Fatsah Bouyahmed, Clotilde Courau, Smaïn, and Booder. The film was released on April 27, 2022.

In 2024, Hamidi co-directed the documentary "Golo & Ritchie" with Martin Fougerol, exploring the lives of the two social media celebrities. The film was released in August 2024. Additionally, he co-wrote the film "L'Amour Ouf" by Gilles Lellouche, featuring Adèle Exarchopoulos, François Civil, Alain Chabat, Benoît Poelvoorde, and others.
