Airi was born on April 12, 1994, in Gifu, Japan, to two golf-playing parents, but she spent most of her childhood in Chiba. Her early start in the entertainment industry began as a member of the Hello! Project Kids pop group, followed by her roles as the lead vocalist of the idol girl group C-ute, Aa!, and Buono!. As these bands dissolved, Airi launched a successful solo career, releasing a dozen photo books, sketching a manga, and appearing in numerous Japanese TV shows and films.
C-ute won the Best New Artist Award at the Japan Record Award in 2008, marking the beginning of Airi's acting career on TV and in movies. She played a central schoolgirl character in Osama Gemu and later became a model for Ray magazine in 2015. During this time, she hosted her own radio show, Airi's Potion, and studied environmental studies at Keio University in Tokyo, graduating in 2017.
In 2018, Airi announced her solo debut album, Do Me a Favor (Sic),along with accompanying singles, videos, and a tour. She continued to model and work on various projects, including promoting corporate products like Japan's biggest pizza chain, Pizza-la, and representing Chiba Prefecture Red Cross.
Airi's remarkable talents, striking figure, and beautiful hair have made her a beloved celebrity. Like many famous individuals, she has endorsed various products and causes, including a blood donation campaign in 2018, where fans could receive a free poster of her by donating blood.
