Aja, a talented and athletic individual, was born in the vibrant city of Seattle, Washington. Her exceptional physical abilities became apparent at a young age, with her racing and beating all the boys on the playground by elementary school. Born to a ballerina dancer, Soun Frary, and a California State High School Wrestling Champion, Lee Leavy, Aja's athletic genes were undoubtedly a significant factor in her future success.
As a high school student, Aja excelled in multiple sports, earning her a full scholarship to San Diego State University, where she became a Track and Field Heptathlete. Her impressive skills led her to become a Division 1 NCAA Bronze Medalist and earn All-American Honors by her senior year.
In 2000, Aja's remarkable athletic abilities took her to the Olympic Trials, where she placed ninth as one of the youngest competitors. This achievement opened doors for her to be accepted into the United States Olympic Training Center program, allowing her to train full-time and compete globally.
However, an injury in 2004 halted her Olympic aspirations just before her most promising competition. During her recovery, a college friend suggested she would make an ideal stunt double and performer. Her first film appearance was in the 2006 movie American Gangster, marking the beginning of her successful career as a stuntwoman.
Since then, Aja has become one of the most sought-after stuntwomen in the country, with her highest career highlight being her induction into the Stuntwomen's Association of Motion Picture in 2016.
