Akosua Adoma Owusu, a talented Ghanaian-American filmmaker, was born in 1984. Her films skillfully explore the complexities of identity, delving into the experiences of African immigrants in America and their triple consciousness. In recognition of her groundbreaking work, IndieWire has named her one of the six preeminent "Avant-Garde Female Filmmakers Who Redefined Cinema".
Her artistic prowess has been showcased globally, with exhibitions at esteemed institutions such as the Centre Pompidou, Berlinale, Rotterdam, Locarno, Toronto, New Directors/New Films (NY),and the British Film Institute (BFI) in London.
