Biography

Alan Charlesworth, a renowned actor, was born in 1949 in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England, UK. At the tender age of 16, he left school to pursue a career in the insurance sector, working in an insurance office. However, his ambition to venture into the entertainment industry led him to apply for a job at the BBC in London in 1971.

Upon being accepted into a clerical post, Alan demonstrated his dedication and commitment to his craft, as he was transferred to the BBC TV, Drama Plays Department in 1972. Over the course of his 27-year tenure at the BBC, Alan rose through the ranks, taking on various roles, including Facilities Clerk, Assistant Floor Manager, Location Manager, Production Manager, First Assistant Director, and Director.

In 1999, Alan bid farewell to his life at the BBC and made the bold decision to dedicate himself solely to acting. He began studying at the Drama School London, where he spent a year honing his craft and legitimizing his decision to become a professional actor. Alan's hard work paid off, as he graduated in 2000 and went on to enjoy a busy acting career until 2012.

Since then, Alan has been "resting," but he remains an active member of the acting community, maintaining his actor status and Equity Membership, ready to take on new challenges and opportunities that may arise.
