Person Biography:

Alan Madlane is a multifaceted individual with a rich and varied background. Born in Detroit, he grew up in the city and nearby Livonia, graduating from Livonia Churchill High School in 1975. During his time at Churchill, he was part of the drama club, but not as an actor.

Madlane's professional journey began in the 1970s when he worked as a critic, copywriter, and associate editor for the iconic rock and roll magazine CREEM from 1977-1979. He then transitioned to the entertainment industry, acting in films since 1980 and onstage since 1983. With over 20 films and 75 stage productions to his credit, he has made a significant impact in the Detroit area.

Some of his notable roles include "Frostbiter: Wrath of the Wendigo" (also known as "Wendigo," "Beyond the Mask," and "Train Station"),"Dirty Trousers" (never completed),and "Amsteroid" (also known as "Magic Mentah"). He has also appeared in "P. I. Blues," "Happy Hour," and "Malignant Separation."

Madlane's work has been recognized by his peers and industry professionals. He is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA since 2014 and has been recommended for roles by notable figures such as Ron Asheton, late guitarist for The Stooges.

In addition to his acting career, Madlane has worked in various industries, including education, journalism, and the service sector. He has held positions such as zookeeper, docent, English professor, bartender, and even recovered dead bodies. He has also been a film projectionist, cab driver, landscaper, waiter, and tropical fish seller.

Madlane is a member of MENSA and is listed in Who's Who in America. He holds a Master's degree in Library Science and a Bachelor's degree in English/Creative Writing with a minor in Biomedical Sciences. He has attended Wayne State University, Western Michigan University, and Schoolcraft College.

When not working, Madlane enjoys a wide range of activities, including metaphysics, human potential, animal and human welfare, record and book collecting, sports, and astronomy. He is a twin, but his younger twin sister Denise passed away shortly after birth. He has one living sister, Karen, who is eight years his junior. Despite having been in several relationships, Madlane has never married or had children. From 1992 to 2018, he had the privilege of raising 13 stray and rescue cats.
