Alan Yentob has held a plethora of esteemed positions at the British Broadcasting Corporation, commencing his illustrious career as a general trainee in 1968.
Following his stint on arts programs such as Omnibus, launched in 1967, and Arena, which debuted in 1975, Yentob was entrusted with the esteemed role of Head of Music and Arts at the BBC, a position he held from 1985 to 1988.
He then went on to assume the reins as Controller of BBC Two, a post he occupied from 1988 to 1993, before being appointed as Controller of BBC One, a role he held from 1993 to 1997.
Yentob's impressive resume continued to grow as he took on the responsibility of BBC Director of Programmes in Production from 1997 to 1998, followed by a stint as BBC Director of Television from 1998 to 2000.
He then served as Director of Drama, Entertainment and CBBC from 2000 to 2004, before being appointed as the Creative Director of the BBC, a position he has held since 2004.
In addition to his esteemed roles at the BBC, Yentob is also a member of the Board of The South Bank, the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and the Institute of Contemporary Art.
Furthermore, he serves as the Chairman of the charity Kids Company, a testament to his commitment to giving back to the community.
