Alberto Vazquez, a talented individual, was born in the vibrant neighborhood of Spanish Harlem, New York, where he was surrounded by the rich cultural heritage of his Puerto Rican parents.
From a young age, Alberto's passion for acting was evident, as he was a self-proclaimed television junkie, often imitating characters from popular sixties TV shows. This early fascination with the craft laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
In 1975, Alberto began formal training in acting, studying under the guidance of Julie Bovasso, who would later become famous for her role as the mother of John Travolta's character in Saturday Night Fever. He continued his education with Ernie Martina and Geraldine Barron, who were both affiliated with the renowned Actors Studio.
Alberto's early performances took place at esteemed institutions such as The Henry Street Settlement, Ensemble Studio Theater, and American Theater for Actors. He honed his skills by understudying the role of the Dealer in Cuba and his Teddy Bear alongside industry giants Robert De Niro and Burt Young on Broadway's Longacre Theater in 1987.
