Biography

Alejandro De Leon, a highly accomplished and skilled film producer, had the distinction of earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in Producing from the esteemed American Film Institute Conservatory in the year 2010.

De Leon's illustrious career trajectory continued with distinction as an Executive Producer on Kelly Reichardt's highly acclaimed cinematic masterpiece, Night Moves, which garnered widespread critical acclaim and international recognition. The film made its world premiere at the prestigious 2013 Venice Film Festival, followed by exclusive screenings at the renowned Toronto International Film Festival, the British Film Institute's esteemed London festival, and the 2013 Deauville film festival in France, where it won the coveted Grand Prize.

In the year 2014, De Leon played a pivotal role in co-producing the film Big Significant Things, which made its highly anticipated premiere at the renowned SXSW film festival, showcasing his impressive production skills.

Throughout his illustrious career, De Leon has also had the privilege of serving as a production manager on notable projects, including the Jim Mickle-directed film Cold In July, as well as the Spanish film Little Galicia, further solidifying his expertise in the industry.

Furthermore, De Leon has demonstrated his versatility and dedication to his craft by producing and line-producing over 12 short films, including the critically acclaimed works The Strange Thing About The Johnsons and Munchausen, both written and directed by the talented Ari Aster.

These short films have been recognized for their excellence, earning official selections at prestigious film festivals such as the New York Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, and Slamdance, a testament to De Leon's exceptional production skills and his ability to collaborate with talented individuals in the industry.

Notably, De Leon has played a pivotal role in the production of two esteemed Student Academy Award-winning films, Thief, which garnered the gold honor in 2011, and Narcocorrido, which received the silver award in 2012.
