Aleksander Bach was born in Lublin, Poland, as the son of a Polish photographer. He later emigrated with his parents to Germany in the early 1980s, where he would go on to pursue his passion for music and film.
Bach attended the Düsseldorf Institute for Music and Media, where he graduated with a degree in Audio and Video Engineering, Dipl. Ing. (FH),in 2006. Concurrently, he studied piano at the Robert-Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf, completing his studies in 2006.
After graduating, Bach went on to work independently, shooting several music videos and a music documentary in China and Japan. His impressive portfolio caught the attention of the Baden-Württemberg/Ludwigsburg film academy, which accepted him into their prestigious post-graduate program in Advertising Film in 2009.
During his time at the film academy, Bach received several awards for his work, including the Cannes "YOUNG DIRECTOR AWARD" in both 2008 and 2009, the "NEW YORK FESTIVAL" award in 2009, and the "ART DIRECTORS CLUB" award in 2010.
Aleksander Bach's directorial debut, "Stars," was met with widespread critical acclaim, with Yda Jury praising the film as "an exceptionally moving production worthy of some of the world's most gifted and well-known film directors." Throughout his career, Bach's work has been characterized by its unique visual style and enthralling storytelling, with music often serving as the primary inspiration for his projects.
Bach's individual handwriting and passion for music have resulted in a distinctive filmmaking style that sets him apart from his peers. His ability to craft visually stunning and emotionally resonant films has earned him a reputation as a talented and innovative director.
