Following her studies at Musikhochschule Breslau, she went on to further her education at the University of Music and Theatre in Hamburg, where she also secured a position as a member of the Opernstudio of the Hamburgische Staatsoper.
At the tender age of twenty-one, despite still being a student, Kurzak's extraordinary talent and unwavering dedication to her craft had already garnered her a plethora of prestigious international competition victories, ultimately culminating in her highly anticipated debut as the captivating Susanna in the iconic opera Le nozze di Figaro.
This marked the inception of a distinguished and illustrious career, one that would see her ascend to the esteemed ranks of the ensemble at the Hamburgische Staatsoper, a position she held from 2004 to 2007.
Kurzak's burgeoning reputation continued to unfold as she made her debut at the prestigious Metropolitan Opera in New York, captivating audiences with her portrayal of Olympia in the operatic masterpiece, Les Contes d'Hoffmann. Shortly thereafter, she took the stage at the revered Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, impressing with her nuanced interpretation of Aspasia in the opera, Mitridate.
Since then, Kurzak's impressive repertoire has expanded to encompass a diverse array of roles, showcasing her remarkable versatility as a soprano. Her performances have included the iconic role of Fiordiligi in Mozart's Così fan tutte, as well as more dramatic turns as Maria Stuarda, Donna Fiorilla in Il turco in Italia, and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni.
