Alexander Domogarov, born on July 12, 1963, in Moscow, Russia, to a family of theatrical figures, began his artistic journey by studying music alongside his general education at a music school. He later graduated from the prestigious Schepkin Theater School in 1984, under the guidance of Viktor Ivanovich Korshunov.
Domogarov's professional career started at the Maly Theater in Moscow, where he served from 1984 to 1985. He then became an actor at the Central Academic Theater of the Soviet Army, now known as the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army, from 1985 to 1995. Since 1995, he has been a member of the Mossovet State Academic Theater, where he has performed in numerous productions, including the title roles in "My Poor Marat" and "Cyrano DEA Bergerac".
As a guest artist, Domogarov has worked at the Gorky Moscow Art Theater, where he starred in Andrei Konchalovsky's trilogy, playing Astrov in "Uncle Vanya", Vershinin in "Three Sisters", and Gaev in "The Cherry Orchard". He also played the legendary title role in the play "Richard III", directed by Nina Chusova, at the premiere on September 13, 2020.
Domogarov has appeared in over 20 films and TV series in Russia and Europe. He made his film debut in 1984 with "Inheritance", directed by Georgy Natanson, and gained fame for his role as Pavel Gorin in the historical adventure film "Midshipmen III" (1992) by Svetlana Druzhinina. He also starred as Count Bussy D'Ambois in the popular Russian TV series "Grafinya de Monsoro" (1997),based on a novel by Alexandre Dumas, which brought him widespread recognition.
Domogarov's other notable roles include the Cossack chieftain Bohun in the historical epic "With Fire and Sword" (1999),directed by Jerzy Hoffman, and as a dashing Count in the detective-adventure series "Turetsky's March" (2000-2007) and "Gangster Petersburg" (2000-2007). He has also appeared in Polish and Swedish productions, including the films "One June Night" (2001),"The Battle of Warsaw. 1920" (2011),and "The Diver" (2001).
