Alexis Arnold is a renowned American actress, best recognized for her leading role as Jodie Davis in the horse drama If I Could Ride on Amazon Prime. Born in Houston, Texas, she is the daughter of Shanda Webb Arnold, a respiratory therapist, and a business owner and fisherman. From a young age, Alexis demonstrated a vivid imagination, often constructing elaborate structures out of cardboard boxes and indulging in her favorite pastime, watching movies.
As a five-year-old, Alexis expressed her interest in acting, but her parents were initially hesitant, failing to take her aspirations seriously. However, her persistence and determination eventually won over her mother, allowing her to pursue her dream.
In June 2016, Alexis landed the lead role of Elsa in a children's local theatre production, followed by regular modeling work for prominent brands such as BELK, Macy's, David's Bridal, and Zulily. Shortly after, she booked her first SAG feature film, Sanitatum, alongside notable actors Elisabeth Rohm and Richard T. Jones. Alexis's remarkable ability to cry on cue, showcased from her first day on set, left a lasting impression on producers and directors, often moving them to tears during filming.
In 2019, Alexis won her first award for Best Young Actress in the feature film The Last Astronaut, a prestigious honor bestowed upon her by the Houston Film Critics Association at Worldfest Houston. A few months later, she attended an open call for the SAG feature film The Shipment (formerly known as Narco Sub) and secured the role of the daughter of a former Navy Seal. Her character, kidnapped by the Columbian drug cartel, is forced to navigate a treacherous world alongside her father, played by Tom Vera, as they work to save her family. Alexis was honored to share the screen with esteemed actors Lee Majors, Robert LaSardo, and Tom Sizemore, earning her a nomination for two Young Artist Academy Awards for her portrayal of Allison Stryker.
In 2021, Alexis dedicated her summer to volunteering at a special needs therapeutic program for children with spinal abnormalities, where she assisted in their rehabilitation by teaching them how to ride a horse safely. She also contributed to the rehabilitation of injured horses, driven by her desire to fully understand her role in the movie If I Could Ride and give her absolute best performance as Jodie Davis. Her dedication paid off, as she won multiple International Best Young Actress awards.
In 2022, Alexis was selected as a lead actress on the Welling Films website and was handpicked by Director Shawn Welling and Executive Producer Lee Majors to work on the film Mission From Outer Space.
