Ali Landry, a Louisiana native, made a sensational entrance into the entertainment industry as "the Doritos Girl" in a 1998 Super Bowl commercial for Frito Lay, catapulting her to instant fame. The next day, the New York Post crowned her a star on its cover, proclaiming "A star was born during Super Bowl XXXII." This newfound fame led to her being named one of People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful" in the same year.
After the commercial campaign's success, Ali, who was crowned Miss USA 1996, transitioned from modeling to acting, taking on a variety of film and television roles. Her most recent credits include co-starring in the feature film Bella (2006),which won the Toronto Film Festival Award in 2006, as well as three seasons on the hit UPN Network series Eve (2003).
Ali's television appearances also included recurring roles on Felicity (1998),Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place (1998),Sunset Beach (1997),and Popular (1999). Her hosting credits include the weekly music-talk show Farmclub.com (2000),Cooking with Mom (2003),and Full Frontal Fashion (2001) on WE: Women's Entertainment, as well as NBC's Spy TV (2001). Additionally, she appeared in the popular music video for 98 Degrees' single "I Do" in the summer of 1999.
In feature films, Ali co-starred in Beautiful (2000),directed by Sally Field, in 2000. A trained dancer in jazz, tap, and ballet for 15 years, Ali hails from Beaux Bridge, Louisiana. She also enjoys kickboxing and gymnastics. Currently, Ali resides in Los Angeles with her husband, director Alejandro Monteverde, and their daughter, Estela.
