Ali Zamani is a multifaceted creative force, serving as a film director, writer, and the visionary founder of AZ Productions, a dynamic film and music video production company renowned for its innovative storytelling and exceptional visuals. This innovative filmmaker's love for cinema was sparked during his formative years in Sweden, where he worked at his father's video store, developing an early appreciation for the art of storytelling.
As a teenager, Ali was already experimenting with filmmaking, casting his friends in short films, with his mother serving as the cinematographer. His determination to hone his craft led him to pursue higher education at Bournemouth University, where he earned a Higher National Diploma in Video Production, followed by a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film, Video, Media, and Society from Northbrook College, UK. During his time at Northbrook, one of his short films was selected for screening at the prestigious Duke of York's Cinema in Brighton, further fueling his ambition.
Ali's academic pursuits continued with a Master's degree in Mass Communication at California State University, Northridge. Since then, he has built an impressive career, directing over 300 music videos, dozens of commercials, and eight feature films over the past 15 years. His 2012 commercial for Luxor, The Comeback Kid, and the music video Love Like Magic both earned Silver Davey Awards in the Film/Video/TV and Music Video categories.
Ali's music video portfolio boasts collaborations with industry icons such as Snoop Dogg, Enrique Iglesias, T-Pain, Lil Wayne, French Montana, and Drake. On the commercial front, he has worked with major brands including Luxor Casino Hotel, LG, Black Mask Rum, and H2 Rose. His films have been distributed worldwide by major studios such as Lionsgate.
One of his most critically acclaimed films is Opus of an Angel, a passion project he spent three years developing. This deeply moving drama, featuring William McNamara and introducing blind actress Kaylynn Kubeldis, is a story with a spiritual undertone that has won multiple awards at international film festivals.
