Aliki Vougiouklaki, a renowned Greek actress, was born in 1934, or possibly 1933, according to some sources, in Maroussi Attikis, Greece. Aliki's first foray onto the stage was in a 1953 Athens production of Molière's "Le malade imaginaire", marking the beginning of her illustrious career. Concurrently, she made her film debut in the 1954 movie "To pontikaki". The late 1950s proved to be a pivotal period for Aliki, as she achieved widespread recognition for her performances in a successful revival of George Bernard Shaw's "Pygmalion", where she portrayed the iconic role of Eliza Doolittle.

This newfound fame enabled her to establish her own stage group, which featured an impressive repertoire including works by Aristophanes, Tennessee Williams, and Sophocles.
Throughout her career, Aliki starred in numerous films, light comedies, and melodramas, often co-starring with her husband and theater partner, Dimitris Papamichael, from 1965 to 1974.
