Alison La Placa, a talented individual, was born in the state of New Jersey, but spent her formative years in the suburban region of Chicago.

However, it is her role as the snobbish yuppie Linda Phillips on the situation comedy "Duet" (1987) and its spin-off "Open House" (1989) that has brought her the most recognition and acclaim.
In her personal life, La Placa resides in Los Angeles, California with her husband, actor and director Philip Charles MacKenzie, with whom she shares a special connection, as he is also her co-star on "Open House".
In her free time, La Placa enjoys engaging in her passion for playing classical piano, as well as traveling to Italy, a destination that holds a special place in her heart.
