Alison Lohman, a talented actress, was born in Palm Springs, California, to a family of no showbiz connections, yet she was destined for the spotlight. Her mother, Diane (Dunham),owned a patisserie, and her father, Gary Lohman, was an architect. As a young girl, Lohman's passion for performing was evident, and she began her professional journey at the tender age of 9.
She landed her first role as "Gretyl" in the production of "The Sound of Music" at the Palm Desert's McCallum Theater, marking the beginning of her theatrical career. Her impressive performance earned her recognition, and by the age of 11, she won the Desert Theater League's prestigious award for "Most Outstanding Actress in a Musical" for her portrayal of the title role in "Annie".
Throughout her teenage years, Lohman continued to hone her craft, appearing in 12 different productions by the time she was 17. Her exceptional singing talent led her to perform as a featured solo vocalist for legendary icons Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, and the Desert Symphony. As a senior in high school, she received the National Foundation of the Advancement of the Arts award, a testament to her remarkable abilities.
The offer of a scholarship to NYU's Tisch School soon followed, but Lohman instead chose to pursue a career in film by moving to Los Angeles. To further refine her skills, she attended a session of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. With her impressive background and talent, Lohman was well-prepared to take on the challenges of the entertainment industry.
