Allelon Ruggiero, a seasoned professional in the acting world, embarked on his career in 1988 when he played the pivotal role of Stephen Meeks, one of the "dead poets" in Peter Weir's timeless classic, "Dead Poets Society". Following the completion of his acting training at the prestigious Performing Arts School of Philadelphia, Ruggiero pursued his passion for film at the University of the Arts.
During his time at the University, he made appearances in a variety of films, including "New Jack City", "Green Card", "Two Bits", "Eyes Beyond Seeing", "Twelve Monkeys", and "Thinner". His early career was marked by a diverse range of roles, showcasing his versatility as an actor.
In 1992, Ruggiero took on the lead role of Carl Borland in the NBC series "Law and Order- Intolerance". This experience not only honed his skills but also instilled in him a desire to explore the creative aspects of filmmaking. He went on to write, direct, and act in his short film "Lost", which premiered at the Museum of American Art in 1995 and won third place at the Denver International Film Works Festival in 1997. The film is now a permanent part of PBS's "Independent Images" series.
Ruggiero's talent continued to be showcased in various films throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s. He appeared as Jimmy, the possessed executioner, in Gregory Hoblit's supernatural thriller "Fallen", starring Denzel Washington. His other notable roles include appearances in Philippe Mora's "Joseph's Gift", starring Sam Bottoms and Robert Townsend, and Roger Corman's "The Greenskeeper", in which he played the lead role of Allen Anderson.
In recent years, Ruggiero has continued to be involved in the film industry, taking on roles such as a small day player in Sam Mendes' "Jarhead". He is currently developing several projects with D-lux films, demonstrating his commitment to the craft and his dedication to exploring new creative avenues.
