Alonzo B. Slater, a talented American actor, was born on August 2, 1990, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to proud parents Cynthia Brown and Albert Slater. At the tender age of 11, he discovered his passion for acting after auditioning for Lion King on Broadway, miraculously finishing in the top 15 out of 300 hopeful kids as Simba.
This early experience instilled in him the drive and passion needed to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Years later, Alonzo graduated from William Paterson University with an English Degree, initially planning to teach. However, he soon realized his true passion lay in acting.
As a well-accomplished actor, model, and comedian, Alonzo has appeared in numerous commercials and print ads for prominent brands such as Asics, Verizon, American Express, Facebook, Stella Artois, Ford, and BMW. He has also starred in various indie films, television shows, and shorts, including the official selection of the Webisode Film Festival's "Remembering Wednesday" on YouTube.
Alonzo continues to passionately pursue his acting career, with recent roles in featured films and television series such as Upshaws on Netflix, Grownish on Freeform, FBI on CBS, and his debut lead role in "A Christmas for Mary" on OWN network, as well as his second lead in "A Christmas Family Reunion" on Lifetime Network.
Currently, Alonzo is in South Africa shooting his first reoccurring role for "Average Joe" Season 2. He is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).
