Aly Muritiba, a Brazilian filmmaker born on February 20, 1979, in the interior of Bahia, has made a significant impact in the film industry. His screenplay for the feature film "The Man Who Killed My Loved One" won the prestigious Global Filmmaking Award at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
Moreover, his short film "A Factory" was a semi-finalist for the 2013 Academy Awards in the best short live-action category. Although it did not make it to the final list of nominees, it was a remarkable achievement for the young filmmaker.
Aly Muritiba's journey in filmmaking began when he moved to São Paulo in 1998 to study History at the University of São Paulo. Shortly after, he relocated to Curitiba with the intention of pursuing a degree in Communication and Culture at the Federal University of Paraná and Cinema and TV at the Faculty of Arts of Paraná.
