Ambre Anderson, a talented individual with a multifaceted background, was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Her parents, Dr. Marcia Henson-Coakley, a dentist, singer, and pianist, and Curt Anderson, a news anchor, attorney, and state delegate, instilled in her a strong sense of creativity and a passion for the arts.
As the eldest of four siblings, Ambre grew up surrounded by a loving family that nurtured her interests and encouraged her to pursue her dreams. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C., where she won a modeling competition that led to her modeling for department store catalogs in New York.
After relocating to New York, Ambre established herself as a SAG-AFTRA actress, beginning with a creative Jeep Liberty commercial where she portrayed an art student painting a Jeep and then driving away in it. Her first television role came just three weeks after moving to Los Angeles, as a feisty waitress in the show "All of US," which was executive produced by Will and Jada Smith and directed by Debbie Allen.
Ambre's talent and versatility soon led to her being cast in commercials in Tel-Aviv, Israel, and South Africa, as well as a Super Bowl commercial in 2022. Her passion project, the sitcom pilot "Ms. Renaissance," showcased her skills as a director, writer, and actress. The pilot was accepted into five film festivals, including the 2019 People's Film Festival in NYC, where she won the award for "Best Actress."
In addition to her work in film and television, Ambre is a children's book author, Huffington Post columnist, and award-winning fine artist. Her inclination to write, perform, and direct stems from her desire to inspire people, evoke laughter, and provide exposure for diverse talents.
Ambre's highest honor is her identity as the daughter of Dr. Marcia Henson-Coakley, who passed away in 2023. She has spoken publicly about the profound impact her mother had on her life and the lessons she learned from her.
