Biography

Dan Peek, Dewey Bunnell, and Gerry Beckley, the trio of American rock band America, first came together in London in 1970, where they had all been stationed with their families, as sons of US Air Force personnel. It was in this city that they initially began to perform live, their musical talents and harmonious voices already evident.

As the years went by, the band gained widespread popularity, becoming synonymous with their distinctive blend of acoustic folk rock and light, gentle melodies. Their music resonated with listeners, and they went on to release a string of successful albums and singles, many of which received significant airplay on popular and soft rock radio stations.

Throughout the 1970s, America's close vocal harmonies and soothing sound captivated audiences, earning them a lasting place in the pantheon of American rock music.
