Ami Canaan Mann is a renowned television and film writer/director, as well as a fiction writer, who has garnered numerous accolades throughout her illustrious career. Her latest film, Audrey's Children, set to be released in 2024, is a historical drama that takes place in 1969 Philadelphia and stars Natalie Dormer as the revolutionary pediatric oncologist Dr. Audrey Evans. The film has already received critical acclaim, winning the Best Feature award at the Tribeca X Film Festival in 2024.
Mann's feature film Texas Killing Fields, released in 2011, boasted an impressive cast, including Jessica Chastain, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Chloë Grace Moretz, and was nominated for the Golden Lion at the 68th Venice International Film Festival. Her subsequent feature, Jackie & Ryan, released in 2014, starred Ben Barnes and Katherine Heigl, and was nominated for the Orizzonti award at the 71st Venice International Film Festival.
Mann's debut feature, Morning, was a critical and commercial success, earning several festival awards, including the Best Directorial Debut award at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, the Grand Jury Award at the River Run International Film Festival, and the Gold Award for Best Feature First Feature at the WorldFest Houston Film Festival.
In addition to her work in film, Mann has also made a name for herself in television, directing episodes of popular shows such as House of Cards, Shots Fired, and Sneaky Pete. Mann's educational background includes a Production Program degree from the USC School of Cinema/Television, as well as an MFA in Writing from Warren Wilson College, which she completed in July 2022.
