Amit, the founder and Artistic Director of Gecko, has a remarkable biography that spans across continents. Born in Israel, he spent his formative years in London, where he was fortunate enough to train under the tutelage of renowned theatre and dance creators Lindsay Kemp and David Glass.
Prior to establishing his own company, Amit worked as a facilitator in South East Asia, utilizing his skills to create theatre with street children over a period of four years. This enriching experience not only honed his craft but also instilled in him a deep understanding of the power of theatre to transcend cultural and socio-economic boundaries.
As the founder of Gecko, Amit has been instrumental in developing the company's unique approach to theatre-making, which emphasizes emotion, physicality, metaphor, breath, and musicality.
