Biography

Amit's life journey began in a small town in South India, where he spent the first 25 years of his life. However, he spent a significant amount of time in North India, which has had a profound impact on his cultural identity. He graduated with an MBA in Marketing and IT in the year 2000 and initially pursued a conventional career, but soon realized that it wasn't fulfilling his passion.

One day, he made the bold decision to leave his job and pursue his true calling in the media industry. He was fortunate enough to land a job assisting renowned Hindi writer and producer, Uday Prakash. During his two-year stint with Prakash, Amit gained valuable experience in writing TV scripts, documentaries, and handling business with various publishers. He also assisted Prakash on several productions, which further honed his skills.

In 2003, Amit moved to New Zealand to pursue a course in film and television. Throughout his studies, he developed a passion for the medium and began creating experimental shorts, TVCs, and music videos to refine his craft. His diverse background has equipped him with the skills to excel in multiple roles, including editing, directing, and producing.

Amit's directorial debut, "Memories of Tomorrow," premiered in 2005 and received widespread acclaim. The film won the "Best Director" award at the Microcinema Film Festival in Chicago and was screened at numerous film festivals around the world. It has been praised by critics and audiences alike and has been picked up for international sales by York Entertainment (USA) and distribution in New Zealand by Arkles Entertainment and in Australia by Force Entertainment. Additionally, the film's Video On Demand rights were acquired by GreenCine, and it was featured as the "Movie of the Week" on film.com.

Currently, Amit is working on his second feature film, "Five," and is in the process of securing international distribution. He is also developing several other feature projects, with the aim of bringing them into production within the next couple of years.
