Amy Locane, a native of New Jersey, has been a SAG member since 1983. Her career in the entertainment industry began in New York, where she appeared in over 50 commercials. She also worked in print, gracing the pages of WWD editorials and serving as a fit model for Calvin Klein.
Locane's first television series, Spencer, starred Chad Lowe, Mi Mi Kennedy, and Grant Heslov. At the tender age of 17, she landed a role alongside Johnny Depp in the cult classic film, Cry Baby. Directed by John Waters, the movie also featured Ricki Lake, Traci Lords, Patricia Hearst, and Iggy Pop.
Amy's impressive filmography continued with roles in School Ties, Blue Sky, and Prefontaine, where she shared the screen with notable actors such as Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Chris O'Donnell, Jared Leto, Jessica Lange, and Tommy Lee Jones.
However, despite a promising start, Locane's career faced a setback when she was mis-cast in the television series Melrose Place, which featured a cast significantly older than her. This misstep led to a period of professional struggle.
Today, Amy Locane resides in New Jersey, just an hour from New York City, with her two daughters. She has found renewed fulfillment in her work, focusing on short films that resonate with her and feature characters she finds compelling.
