Anastacia grew up in a family with a rich cultural background. Her father was a singer, and her mother was an actress who appeared on Broadway. This early exposure to the performing arts sparked Anastacia's interest in show business, and she began attending the prestigious "Professional Children's School" to further develop her talent.
As a young artist, Anastacia started her career as a dancer, appearing in various music videos and recordings as a background singer. However, her dominant voice proved to be a challenge, as it often overshadowed the other artists she worked with. In January 2003, Anastacia shocked the world by announcing that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She canceled all upcoming appointments to focus on her treatment and recovery. After her diagnosis, Anastacia founded the "Anastacia Fund," which is part of the "Breast Cancer Research Foundation," to support early detection therapies for breast cancer.
In 2004, Anastacia released the single "Left Outside Alone" and the accompanying album "Anastacia," which was certified five times platinum in Germany. She also celebrated her stage debut of the song at the "Echo" awards in Berlin.
In 2005, Anastacia was honored with the German Music Prize and the "International Rock/Pop Artist" award at the Echo Awards. She also released her first greatest hits album "Pieces of a Dream" and ventured into fashion design, creating a collection with the s.Oliver label in August 2006.
