André Schneider, a multi-talented individual, began his career in 1997 with a one-man show, "Sleepless Cities", featuring songs by renowned composers like Kurt Weill, Burt Bacharach, Jacques Prévert, and Tori Amos.
He made his stage debut at the age of twenty in his hometown of Hildesheim, Lower Saxony, starring alongside Michael Demuth in the successful musical "Zoff".
One year later, he relocated to Berlin, and in 2001, he moved to London. In 2004, his first book, "Life is a Sexually Transmitted Disease", and the pop album "Lover's Space" were released.
André worked extensively in various countries, including Great Britain, Ireland, France, Spain, Austria, and Belgium. He also worked on several projects in Germany, including the drama Glastage and the film Der Mann im Keller, which marked his directorial debut.
In 2006, he wrote, produced, and starred in Half Past Ten, based on a Marguerite Duras novel. He later took a hiatus from filmmaking to focus on his theatre work.
André's next film as a writer-producer-actor was Alex und der Löwe, a gay romantic comedy. He played the title role of Alex, a 30-year-old Berlin-based man who clumsily navigates relationships.
The film received positive reviews, and André reprised his role in the successful sequel, Men to Kiss. However, he felt dissatisfied with his work in German comedies and sought new challenges.
To revive his movie career, he began working on his first French feature, A Second Chance, which became a critical success. He continued working in Paris and appeared in films like One Deep Breath and Le cadeau.
Between 2015 and 2018, André established himself as a character actor in France, appearing in films like Boulevard Voltaire, Frig, The Ghosts, and On My Mother's Path.
In addition to his film work, his biography of B-movie actress Marisa Mell received rave reviews and became a success in 2013. He has since dissolved his company, Vivàsvan Pictures, and is pursuing studies in pedagogy and philosophy. André currently resides in Strasbourg, France, where he continues to write and work on various projects.
