Andrés Gallegos embarked on his professional journey in the early 2000s, initially involved in Chilean film and television productions.
Following his graduation from Uniacc in Santiago de Chile with a degree in audio-visual communications in 2008, he went on to receive numerous accolades for his outstanding work in cinematography.
At the tender age of twenty-two, Andrés was awarded Best Cinematography at the prestigious Fesancor (Santiago Short Film Festival) for his exceptional work on Axion.
The National Audiovisual fund of Chile recognized his exceptional talent, awarding him a scholarship to pursue a Master's degree. He then relocated to California to pursue his MFA in Cinema at San Francisco State University, where he graduated and received the Graduate Award for Distinguished Achievement.
In 2019, Andrés received the Best Cinematographer Award at the Oakland Short Film Festival, a testament to his continued excellence in his craft.
Furthermore, he has been nominated for the ASC (American Society of Cinematographers) Heritage Awards for his remarkable cinematography work on the film Shoe Shiner.
Throughout his illustrious career, Andrés' work has been showcased at numerous prominent film festivals, including Cannes, Raindance, Málaga, Mill Valley, and Valdivia, solidifying his reputation as a talented and accomplished cinematographer.
