Andrew Bongiorno, a renowned Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award and Ovation Award recipient, embarked on his illustrious career at the tender age of 13, earning the prestigious title of "Best Under Sixteen Actor" at the Guild Awards.
By 17, he had been recognized as the "Young Shakespearean Artist of the Year" by the Shakespearean Globe Centre for the second consecutive year, a testament to his exceptional talent and dedication.
As a result of his remarkable achievements in the arts, Andrew was nominated for the esteemed "Young Australian of the Year" award, a recognition of his outstanding contributions to the industry.
Andrew's academic pursuits took him to the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA),a prestigious institution that has produced notable alumni such as Hugh Jackman and Frances O'Connor.
Upon completing his three-year intensive degree, Andrew ventured into film work and made a name for himself at the world-renowned Tropfest, the biggest short film festival globally.
By 24, Andrew had received his first "Greenroom" award for his work on Sam Mendes' production of "Cabaret", a milestone in his burgeoning career.
Andrew's professional journey has taken him to London and Los Angeles, where he has had the privilege of working with respected international directors, including Academy Award winner Ben Affleck, Academy Award nominee Nick Enright, Academy Award winner Sam Mendes, Emmy Award winner Lane Shefter Bishop, and Emmy Award winner Robert M Wise.
Notable highlights from Andrew's illustrious career include his work on the internationally acclaimed TV drama "Satisfaction" for Showtime and his lead role in the world premiere of "The Red and the Black", which garnered critical acclaim.
Andrew's portrayal of Peter Allen in "The Boy From Oz" earned him widespread recognition, with Los Angeles Times critic David C. Nichols praising his performance, stating, "Bongiorno, who makes the entire audience feel as if he's addressing us individually, is a star on the ascendant..."
Having secured a green-card, Andrew relocated to Los Angeles to further his international career and refine his acting skills by taking coaching at the Ivanna Chubbuck studio.
As a result, Andrew has continued to excel, shooting numerous roles in feature films and TV shows, including "Narcos", "NCIS", "Lethal Weapon", "Mistresses", and more.
Most recently, Andrew wrapped up a five-week shoot for the Warner Bros. feature "Live By Night", written, directed, and starring Ben Affleck, in the role of "Fasani".
