Angel Oquendo was born and raised in the culturally rich and diverse neighborhood of The Bronx, New York, where he spent his formative years developing a strong sense of identity and community. Prior to pursuing his passion for acting, Oquendo had a remarkable career in the United States Army, where he had the opportunity to travel the world and serve his country with distinction.
During his time in the Army, Oquendo worked at the National Security Agency and the Central Intelligence Agency, holding Top Secret security clearances and gaining a deep understanding of the importance of national security and defense. In addition to his work in the intelligence community, Oquendo also had a number of diverse and interesting jobs, including time as a telecoms engineer, an instructor at the National Cryptologic School, a licensed real estate agent, and even a radio disc jockey.
However, it was his work in the entertainment industry that truly brought Oquendo a sense of fulfillment and purpose. He began his acting career with a number of film roles, including supporting parts in Ocean's Thirteen, 1408, King of California, and Shadowboxer, alongside some of Hollywood's most talented Oscar-winning and nominated actors and directors.
Oquendo's impressive body of work on film has been matched by his numerous guest appearances on Emmy-winning and nominated television shows, including The Mentalist, Dexter, Everybody Hates Chris, House, Nip/Tuck, and many more. In addition to his work on screen, Oquendo has also lent his voice to a number of high-profile films, TV shows, and video games, including Mad Max: Fury Road, American Sniper, Happy Feet Two, The Dark Knight, Changeling, Cloverfield, I Am Legend, and many others.
Despite his busy schedule, Oquendo still finds time to give back to his community. He continues to serve his country as a Broadcast Journalist in the U.S. Air National Guard and volunteers to work with children through the SAG Foundation's BookPALS program, using his platform to make a positive impact on the lives of young people.
