After completing her secondary education, Alvarado continued her academic journey at Hunter College, where she majored in Economics and minored in Film. This unique combination of disciplines would later influence her career choices.
Before transitioning to the world of entertainment, Alvarado began her professional journey as a model in New York City. Her initial success in the industry led her to explore acting opportunities, which ultimately blossomed into a thriving career in front of the camera.
As her acting career flourished, Alvarado's creative impulses led her to explore the realm of directing, further expanding her artistic horizons. Throughout her professional journey, she has been fortunate to share her life with her husband, Draco Rosa, whom she married in 1990.
