Andy Rukes was born Andrew Rukavina in the charming city of Guelph, Ontario, where he would later go on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree from the esteemed Wilfrid Laurier University.
From a young age, Andy was bitten by the acting bug, and at the tender age of eleven, he took on the iconic title role in his grade five's production of the timeless classic, "Robin Hood". This marked the beginning of a lifelong passion for the performing arts.
Throughout his youth, Andy continued to hone his craft, performing in numerous theatrical productions throughout Ontario. Some of his most memorable roles include Lee Blessing's poignant drama, "A Walk In The Woods", Mollière's witty comedy, "Tartuffe", and Sherman Snukal's engaging play, "Talking Dirty".
In addition to his stage work, Andy also co-produced murder mystery dinner theatre with the now-defunct "Dead Funny Murder Mysteries" during his time in Ontario.
In the fall of 1999, Andy made the bold decision to relocate to Vancouver, British Columbia, where he has since accumulated an impressive array of over fifty film and television credits.
