Anna Brownfield, a renowned filmmaker, has garnered widespread media attention for her innovative and original work. Her remarkable journey in the film industry began with her graduation from Media Arts at RMIT.
Her inaugural feature film, The Money Shot, garnered immense recognition, closing the 2005 Melbourne Underground Film Festival (MUFF) and earning accolades for Best Director, Screenplay, and Male Lead.
Anna's subsequent feature, The Band, premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Market in France and opened the Berlin Porn Film Festival in Germany, where it won "Hottest Feature" at the Feminist Porn Awards in Canada in 2010.
Making it Handmade!, her debut documentary, premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival in 2010 and received a televised premiere on ABC2 in 2011.
Her second erotic feature, The Bedroom, opened the Berlin Porn Film Festival in 2016 and screened at festivals in Switzerland, Italy, USA, and Brazil. Anna received the Best Director award at the Toronto International Porn Awards and the SuzyForever Award for Direction at the PopPorn Film Festival.
Anna's documentary, Wicked Women, was funded by ABC, Screen Australia, and Film Victoria, and premiered on ABC iView. The documentary also screened at the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, as well as queer film festivals in France, Italy, Germany, Greece, Switzerland, and BFI Flare London.
Anna's most recent documentary, A Big Life, was funded by Screen Australia and the Melbourne Queer Film Festival. The documentary premiered on the closing night of the Melbourne Queer Film Festival.
