Annette Lawless, a renowned Emmy and Murrow-award winning reporter, anchor, and actress, hails from the Sunflower State. Born in Wellington, Kansas, Annette's storytelling skills were evident from a young age, as she would regale her friends with elaborate tales at the elementary school lunch table. Although she was once penalized without recess for talking too much, this experience did not deter her from pursuing her passion for storytelling.
Annette's public speaking career flourished in high school, earning her over 75 awards in speech, debate, and acting. She was named one of the top public speakers in the country and went on to study broadcasting, print journalism, and public relations at Kansas State University. Her impressive academic record led to a successful career in television, with stints at ESPN, TV stations in Topeka, Wichita, and Cleveland, and eventually anchoring and reporting at KAKE-TV in Wichita, Kansas.
Throughout her career, Annette has received numerous awards for her work in producing, reporting, and photography from various associations, including the Kansas Association of Broadcasters, the National Press Photographer's Association, the Ohio News Photographer's Association, and the Emmy's. In addition to her work in television, Annette has also hosted her own TV podcast, "Hottie and the Jerk," and has acted in over 20 films, including "The Avengers," "Fun Size," and "Draft Day."
When she's not working, Annette enjoys a range of activities, from rappelling off 500-foot cliffs and climbing the Sydney Harbor Bridge to photography, building websites, and playing Nintendo.
