Biography

Anusorn Soisa-ngim, also known as Aam, is a talented Thai filmmaker and director born on May 23, 1989. He is renowned for his exceptional directing and writing skills, which have garnered widespread acclaim for his films.

Soisa-ngim's work is deeply personal, often drawing from his own experiences. His unique storytelling approach and fresh perspectives have made his films stand out in the industry. He is also the founder of COMMETIVE PRODUCTION CO., LTD, which he established during his second year at Bangkok University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Film and Performing Arts.

In 2012, his first short film gained international recognition, being selected in numerous short film festivals worldwide. This achievement marked the beginning of his successful career as a filmmaker.

Soisa-ngim is the first Thai filmmaker to receive government funding from Hokkaido, Japan, for his film "Present Perfect" (2017). The film was adapted from his earlier short film and won several awards, including the Best Film Award at the LGBTQ Amsterdam Film Festival in the Netherlands.

His documentary film and "Why Am I Left Behind" (2014),which was funded by the Busan Film Commission, South Korea, were also widely recognized in prominent film festivals globally. Soisa-ngim's short films, such as "Present Perfect" (2012) and "There Is No Space For Me" (2015),have been praised for their innovative storytelling and received international acclaim.

In 2019, Soisa-ngim released the horror slasher film "Bangkok Dark Tales," which he directed and produced. The film premiered in Thailand and Southeast Asia countries and later screened in Singapore.

Soisa-ngim is also known for his work on television, particularly the popular series "2mooms2 the Series," which was based on the bestselling book "2moons." The show became an instant hit worldwide, garnering over 100 million views and ranking No.2 in the most-watched TV series of 2019. "2Moons2" was also nominated for the Best LGBTQ TV Programme category at the Content Asian Awards 2020.

In March 2020, Soisa-ngim released the sequel to "Present Perfect," titled "Present Still Perfect." The film has received recognition from various international film festivals, including the Rosze Filmdagen Amsterdam film festival in the Netherlands and the boyohboy Films marathon 2020 in France.

Due to the impact of the coronavirus, the film's initial release was moved to an online platform, including Vimeo, GaGaolala, and DVD order. Despite this, "Present Still Perfect" became the no.1 most-watched film on Gagaoolala for five weeks, holding the record for the longest-running film of all time. The film also topped the charts in several countries, including the USA, Germany, and Southeast Asia, and was ranked among the top 5 Best LGBTQ films of 2020 by NME magazine.

Soisa-ngim continues to push the boundaries of filmmaking, striving to create captivating stories that move audiences. His upcoming project, "Call It What You Want," promises to be another groundbreaking work in the BL love story genre.
