Anya Adams is a renowned Canadian-American director, celebrated for her outstanding work on notable television series such as Black-ish, Ginny & Georgia, and The Good Place. Adams' illustrious career spans multiple genres and platforms. Notably, she took home the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series for her work on GLOW in 2020. Her pilot debut, Ginny & Georgia, was a massive success, further cementing her status as a versatile and talented director.
Prior to her successful career in filmmaking, Adams worked in the nonprofit sector, traveling the world with Up With People, a global citizen incubator. This experience fostered her passion for storytelling and ultimately led her to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Adams' journey in filmmaking began when she was accepted into the DGA Trainee Program. She relocated to Los Angeles, where she honed her skills on the sets of several prominent television shows, including Boomtown, The Practice, Black-ish, The Mindy Project, CSI Miami, Community, Scrubs, and The West Wing.
In 2016, Adams made her directorial debut with the short film Lemonade Mafia, featuring an impressive cast, including Marsai Martin, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Ava Acres.
