Aoife McArdle is a Northern Irish filmmaker whose diverse body of work encompasses music videos, film, and television drama.
As a director and producer, she made significant contributions to the first series of the universally acclaimed Apple TV drama series, Severance, earning prestigious nominations from the Directors Guild of America, the Emmy Awards, the Hollywood Critics Association, and the Irish Film and Television Awards.
Throughout her career, McArdle has directed an impressive array of music videos for renowned artists, including Bicep, Jon Hopkins, Anna Calvi, Bryan Ferry, U2, Bloc Party, Simian Mobile Disco, Coldplay, and Wilkinson.
In 2021, she created the immersive installation and short film All Of this Unreal Time, starring Cillian Murphy, which premiered at the Manchester International Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival.
Her debut film, Kissing Candice, had its international premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in 2017 and its European premiere at the Berlinale, where it received widespread critical acclaim.
In addition to her work in the film and television industry, McArdle has also directed numerous award-winning TV commercials for prominent clients such as Nike, Playstation, Under Armour, Honda, GQ, Squarespace, Audi, Absolut, Diesel, and Levis.
