Born and raised in the vast, sun-kissed prairies of Saskatchewan, Aren's formative years were deeply rooted in a unique cultural heritage that has had a profound impact on his life and career. Growing up, he was fortunate to have been exposed to a balanced diet of academic rigor, athletic pursuits, and artistic expression, which he credits as the foundation of his success.
Aren's love affair with the performing arts began when he took center stage as Ebenezer Scrooge in an elementary school production of Charles Dickens' timeless classic, "A Christmas Carol". This early experience sparked a passion within him that would continue to burn brightly throughout his academic career, culminating in his winning the prestigious University of Regina Best Actor award in his 9th grade year.
In addition to his love of acting, Aren was also an accomplished hockey player, competing at an elite level for several years. However, after high school, he was faced with the difficult decision of choosing between his two passions. Ultimately, he decided to hang up his skates and pursue a career in the entertainment industry, moving to Vancouver and enrolling in acting school.
Aren's professional career began in 2008, when he landed a recurring guest star role on the local production "Rabbit Fall". Since then, he has gone on to appear in a wide range of projects, including a supporting lead role alongside Christian Slater in "Way of the Wicked", as well as guest star roles in the CW's "Supernatural" and SyFy's "Lost Girl".
One of Aren's most notable roles to date is his starring turn in the film "When The Ocean Met The Sky", a poignant drama about three estranged brothers who must journey to a remote location in order to receive their inheritance due to a stipulation in their parents' will. The film premiered at the prestigious Calgary International Film Festival, where it won the Discovery Award Best First Narrative Feature, and was subsequently selected to be part of TIFF's Film Circuit.
