Putra Arifin Scheunemann, professionally known as Arifin Putra, was born on May 1, 1987, in Mainz, Germany, to a mixed heritage family. His father, Axel Scheunemann, is of German descent, while his mother, Joyce Sunandar, hails from Indonesia. At the tender age of three, Arifin, along with his older sister and parents, relocated to Indonesia, where he spent his formative years.
Arifin's early life and career were shaped by his family's entrepreneurial spirit. His mother, Joyce, runs a thriving catering business, while his father, Axel, is an exporter and landscaping specialist. This exposure to various industries and entrepreneurial ventures likely influenced Arifin's creative pursuits and his ability to adapt to diverse roles.
Arifin's breakthrough in the film industry came with his portrayal of the ambitious son of a mob boss in the critically acclaimed action thriller, The Raid 2: Berandal (2014). This film marked his first international release, gaining recognition in the United States and other major film markets worldwide. His versatility as an actor is also showcased in his roles in the horror film Macabre (2009) and the teen romance flick Lost in Love (2008),which was a sequel to Eiffel I'm in Love (2003).
