Art LaFleur, a talented character actor, was born on September 9, 1943, in Gary, Indiana. Prior to his career in the entertainment industry, LaFleur had extensive experience in sales, as well as in the saloon and restaurant business. However, at the age of 31, in 1975, he made the bold decision to leave his life in Chicago, Illinois, behind and move to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a career in film.
Initially, Art had planned to become a screenwriter, but his friend and fellow actor, Jonathan Banks, convinced him to try his hand at acting instead. LaFleur's acting career began to take shape in 1977, when he started landing roles in plays. A year later, he made his television movie debut. He went on to act in a steady stream of films and television shows, often being cast in tough guy roles, until his retirement in 2017.
Sadly, LaFleur passed away on November 17, 2021, at the age of 78, after a ten-year battle with Parkinson's disease, in Los Angeles, California.
